MDW Capital advises on its 50th completion

London, 17th November 2022

MDW Capital is pleased to announce the completion of its latest transaction, advising Sentry Doors Limited (“Sentry” or the “Group”) on raising over £14 million of debt facilities to support Sentry’s acquisition of E. & S. W. Knowles Limited and  the Group’s further growth.

This marks MDW Capital’s 50th completion, a landmark achievement for the Firm that has been achieved in as many months.  The Firm expects to announce further completions soon.

Sentry was acquired by Cairngorm Capital Partners LLP in 2019 and has grown to become the UK’s market leading provider of bespoke, specialist fire safety door solutions for the social housing sector, designed to preserve life in emergency situations.  The acquisition of Knowles provides Sentry with an opportunity to broaden its current product offering with highly complementary products and penetrate new market sectors.

The Group selected MDW Capital given the firm’s unrivalled expertise in providing borrowers with best in class advice, from a team that has been borrowers and shareholders in the past.

Stuart Whiteford, Cairngorm Investment Director, commented “as a firm we have worked with the MDW team previously.  Their approach, process management and advice is consistently of the highest standard and they understand what is critical for us as the shareholder in the debt facilities they deliver for our portfolio companies.  This new financing facility provides Sentry with a debt facility that will support the business through its growth and expansion as we consolidate the Knowles acquisition into the Group.”

David Culpan, Managing Partner at MDW Capital added “this financing was MDW’s 50th completion in as many months. It was delivered with the same dependable excellent quality of advice that our clients value so highly; advice that is born of our deeply rooted experience of being shareholders and investors.  This unique ability to think like our clients and structure facilities to meet their needs is what we are all about”.
